Other facts. Although modern Bulgarian now has an agreed alphabet of 30 letters (it does not include the three Russian characters , there was not always such concord. In the 1870s, at the height of alphabetical confusion,
people used a variety of letters, and the Bulgarian alphabet was estimated to have either 24 characters, 38 characters, or something in between.
